Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy includes details of how Iconic Food Distribution Pty Ltd or any of its subsidiaries or related entities (referred to as Sirena, We or Us) collects, stores, uses and discloses your personal information.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Australian Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth (Act).
In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” has the meaning set out in the Act.
Sirena may amend this Privacy Policy at any time. The latest version will be available on our website at sirena.com.au/privacy-policy.
1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Sirena collects the following types of Personal Information where it is reasonably necessary for its business purposes:
- name;
- address;
- email address;
- telephone number; and
- where you apply for employment with Sirena, information which may be contained in a resume and which may be recorded during any interview or pre-employment checking.
Sirena do not ordinarily collect sensitive information (as defined in the Act) about you.
You may notify Sirena that you wish to deal with them by not identifying yourself or using a pseudonym. If we are not able to collect Personal Information about you, Sirena may not be able to provide you with the products, services, information or assistance you require.
2. HOW SIRENA COLLECTS PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU
Sirena may collect Personal Information from you in the following ways:
- when you contact its consumer information services via telephone or “contact us” web page;
- when you sign up to receive a newsletter or other marketing materials;
- when you enter a promotion;
- when you apply for employment with Sirena and during the recruitment process;
- when you conduct business with Sirena ;
- when you provide your information to Sirena staff;
- when you supply goods and/or services to Sirena; and / or
- when you enter your recipe through our website.
Sirena may also collect Personal Information about you from publicly available sources (such as the internet) and from third parties (such as your referees provided during the recruitment process if you apply for a job with us).
3. PURPOSE OF COLLECTION & USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Sirena collects your Personal Information for the following purposes:
- to conduct business with you;
- to respond to your query submitted via our consumer information service;
- to process your entry into a promotion;
- to consider your application for employment;
- to send you marketing materials (but only where you have consented to receive those marketing materials or where we are permitted to do so by law); and / or
- for any other purpose that was communicated to you at the time of collection.
Any additional purpose for the collection of Personal Information (not set out in this policy) will be identified at the time that Sirena collect Personal Information from you or as soon as practicable afterwards.
4. DIRECT MARKETING
By providing your address, email address and telephone numbers to Sirena, you consent to Sirena contacting you for the Purposes set out in clause 3 above. Sirena may contact you in a variety of ways, including by mail, email, social media, SMS, MMS and telephone.
You can opt out of being contacted by:
- contacting us by email at customersvc@iconicfd.com.au; or
- using the unsubscribe facility that we include in our electronic messages (eg email, SMS or MMS) to opt out of receiving those messages.
5. DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties in connection with one or more of the Purposes outlined in clause 3 above.
In particular, Sirena may disclose your Personal Information to any one or more of the following third parties:
- any third parties to whom you have directed Sirena to disclose your Personal Information (e.g. referees);
- Sirena’s related companies;
- Sirena’s contractors (such as mailing houses, prize providers, marketing agencies, insurance providers, website and data hosting providers and other IT suppliers) and other persons who provide services to Sirena;
- companies who may use your Personal Information in order to tailor electronic advertising to you (e.g. on a webpage) in relation to our products and services;
- Sirena’s accountants, insurers, lawyers, auditors and other professional advisers;
- in the event that Sirena’s assets are or may be acquired by a third party, to that third party and their advisors;
- in certain circumstances, third parties that require the information for law enforcement or to prevent a serious threat to public safety; and
- otherwise as permitted or required by law.
Where Sirena discloses your Personal Information to third parties, Sirena will use reasonable commercial efforts to ensure that such third parties protect your Personal Information in a manner consistent with this privacy policy.
6. STORAGE & SECURITY
Sirena may store Personal Information on computer databases and/or in hard copy, and will employ reasonable commercial, physical and electronic security measures to protect any records which contain your Personal Information.
Sirena may store information in Australia and overseas, including the USA.
Sirena may also engage third party service providers to assist in storing and processing certain types of Personal Information for Sirena. Some of these service providers may be located overseas, or use facilities located overseas to provide us with services.
Sirena will take reasonable steps to keep any Personal Information that it holds about you secure from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure as required by the privacy legislation.
Sirena use the following security measures to secure and protect your Personal Information:-
- data containing Personal Information is only stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the relevant purpose, following which it is deleted;
- regular security audits are undertaken to identify any threats or weaknesses to digital security;
- access to any Personal Information is restricted and limited to the extent required;
- Sirena’s staff receive regular training on data security and privacy practices.
Except to the extent that liability cannot be excluded due to the operation of law, Sirena excludes all liability (including in negligence) for the consequences of any unauthorised access to your Personal Information. If you become aware of any breach of security, Sirena request that you notify them without delay.
7. CONTACT INFORMATION
You can contact Sirena if:
- you want to access or correct any Personal Information that we hold about you;
- you want to unsubscribe from our marketing database; and / or
- you think that we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles and you want to make a complaint.

When contacting Sirena, please provide as much detail as possible in relation to your query, issue or complaint.
Your complaints will be assessed by an appropriate person with the aim of resolving any issue in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the Act.
Any complaints are forwarded to Sirena’s customer service department. Complaints are reviewed daily during business hours and will be addressed by a member of Sirena’s customer service team within three (3) business days of receipt of the complaint. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of our assessment of your complaint, you may wish to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
If you require access to the Personal Information that Sirena hold about you, Sirena may charge a fee for providing access to this information and Sirena may refuse access where the Act allows.
