Sirena FAQs

I can’t find a use by date on the cans. Can I still use the product?

  • As per Australian packaging requirements, products with a three year shelf life do not require a use by date. However, please note we have records of all batch codes that reflect the use by date by product.

Does Sirena use Genetically Modified (GM) ingredients?

  • No, all Sirena products are GM FREE.

Do Sirena products contain MSG?

  • No, all Sirena products are MSG free.

Do Sirena products contain preservatives

  • No, all Sirena products contain only natural ingredients.

Is Sirena packaging recyclable?

  • Yes, all of our products use recyclable packaging material – i.e. glasses, cans, and cardboards.

Do I need to refrigerate Sirena products after opening?

  • Yes, it is recommended to refrigerate all Sirena products in an air-tight container (not the can) and consume in two days of opening the can.

Is Sirena tuna dolphin friendly?

  • Yes. Sirena tuna is not caught using drift net methods.  Tuna boat captains are required to sign certificates for each catch to confirm the catch was dolphin friendly.

Can I freeze remaining tuna?

  • Yes, Sirena tuna can be frozen for up to two months if removed from the can and placed in an air-tight container.

Is Sirena halal?

  • Some. Sirena Tuna in Oil, and Sirena Tuna in Springwater are halal certified.   The Sirena Tuna Slices range are all halal certified. Please refer to individual cans.
